David
aka "Gospel Magician"
aka "Good News Wiseguy"

David was born in Bethesda, Maryland in October 1959.
Because of some family difficulties, at a young age,
he and his brother, Jim, were adopted by his paternal grandparents.
They lived on a farm outside the little town of Lookeba, Oklahoma.
David attended Lookeba-Sickles High School
where he was named "Most Likely to Succeed" his Senior year.

After graduating from high school in 1977,
David worked for a fledgling computer company in Oklahoma City.
He joined the Air Force in 1979 and was stationed at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas
after completing training in Texas and California.
David was a Titan II Missile Crew member while stationed at Little Rock AFB.
(More importantly, he met and married me (Sindee) while stationed there.)
When the Titan Missiles were dismantled,
he trained for a new job at Biloxi, Mississippi and Augusta, Georgia (1986-1987).
He was then stationed at Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs, Colorado (1987-1989).
There he worked in his new career field, Satellite Communications.
While stationed at Peterson AFB, David and I adopted our son, Justin.
From there David did a remote tour in Kwang Ju, Korea.
When he returned to the US, he was stationed atEllsworth AFB, South Dakota from 1990-1994.
David's last assignment brought him back home to Oklahoma at Tinker AFB.
He retired from the Air Force in 1998.
David now works in the Oklahoma City area for Avaya Communication.

As you can probably tell by the graphics, David is a magician.
He got a magic set for his birthday when he was
8 years old that started the whole thing.
When I met him he loved to make things disappear right in front of my eyes.
I had to stick with him so I could see how he did all those tricks!
Anyway, he's been doing magic shows on and off for over 30 years now.
He's real good at it too!
Don't ask me how to do any magic tricks, because I'm sworn to secrecy!
Let me see, what else can I tell you about David.........

His real name is John David, but he goes by his middle name.
He signs his name J David most of the time and never puts a period after the J.

He's a born-again Christian and knows the Bible like the back of his hand.
He co-leads our children's church (SuperChurch) with me.
He also uses his magic tricks to illustrate the Gospel.
He regularly lectures at the Fellowship of Christian Magicians seminar in Denver, Colorado.

David used to collect comic books.  He had 2 or 3 grocery bags full when we got married,
now he has half of a garage full.  He doesn't buy them anymore though. (Hallelujah!)
Since he has been back in Oklahoma he has dedicated more of his time to his "magician" side.

David used to be a roller disco king!  At least I thought he was.  :-)
It's a good thing too, because that I met him at a roller rink.

David worked for a Christian radio station for a few years part-time as a DJ.
The station was KITA in Little Rock, Arkansas.
We even got to go on a Caribbean cruise because of his work there.

David's most recent "fun" thing is selling magic tricks and accessories on E-Bay.
He usually comes in from work and heads straight to the computer to see how he's doing.

Add Hero Cliks to David's many interests.
He has been participating in various tournaments in our area.

I'm sure I could think of a lot more things to tell you about David,
but the best thing about him is he is a great husband and Dad!
